The Barefoot Jeweler began around 2010, when its maker took a few craft classes and discovered a genuine love for creating jewelry by hand. She became especially drawn to chain maille, wire weaving, kumihimo, and other intricate jewelry-making techniques. What started with pieces created for family and special, one-of-a-kind gifts for close friends gradually grew into The Barefoot Jeweler.

Now 58, divorced, and living with a disability, she balances working as a cashier with building her jewelry business—creating each piece with patience, skill, and determination. She originally started The Barefoot Jeweler while living in Florida, where being barefoot year-round came naturally. These days, she lives in Michigan, where the name still fits her free-spirited personality—even if the weather makes being barefoot a little more challenging.

Every piece reflects her creativity and love for the craft. Because each item is individually handmade, no two creations are exactly alike.
